Average occupancy rate in the three star hotels declined to 37.3 per cent in 2009

Three star hotels in Bucharest last year registered an average occupancy rate of 37.3 per cent, under the profitability threshold estimated at 40 per cent, according to a study completer by the hotel consultancy firm Fivestar Hospitality.

"The average occupancy rate of the three star hotels in Bucharest last year declined to 37.3 per cent against 2008, when it stood at 59.2 per cent, while the average tariff dropped to 213 RON per room per night, from 240 RON” shows the study.

In the case of the four star hotels in the Capital, the average occupancy degree declined from 54.5 per cent in 2008 to 41.5 per cent and the average tariff dropped from 314 RON to 271 RON. From over 10,000 rooms in Bucharest hotels, 5,210 are classified at four stars and 2,920 are classified at three stars.

The decline of the tariffs and of the occupancy degree were determined by the reduction of the tourists number, caused by the economic crisis and by the fact that in 2008 the number of hotel rooms in Bucharest went up by 47 per cent.

Hotelurile de trei stele din Bucureşti au înregistrat anul trecut un grad mediu de ocupare de 37,3 la suta sub pragul de rentabilitate, estimat la 40 la suta, potrivit unui studiu al companiei de consultanţă hotelieră Fivestar Hospitality.

"Gradul mediu de ocupare al hotelurilor de trei stele din Bucureşti a scăzut anul trecut faţă de 2008 la 37,3 la suta, de la 59,2 la suta, în timp ce tariful mediu s-a diminuat la 213 RON pe cameră pe noapte, de la 240 de RON” se arata in studiu.

In cazul hotelurilor de patru stele din Capitală, gradul mediu de ocupare a scăzut de la 54,5 la suta în 2008 la 41,5 la suta anul trecut, iar tariful mediu a coborât de la 314 RON la 271 RON. Din peste 10.000 de camere de hotel în Bucureşti, 5.210 sunt clasificate la patru stele, iar 2.920 la trei stele.

Scăderea tarifelor şi a gradului de ocupare au fost determinate de reducerea numărului de turişti, cauzată de criza economică si de faptul că în 2008 numărul de camere de hotel din Bucureşti a crescut cu 47 la suta.
